Mountain Sports
In the region a large number of well-maintained and marked hiking trails in all degrees of difficulty are offered. For mountainbikers and cyclists there are many possible routes, including routes into the surrounding valleys. Opportunities for horse riding are offered throughout the region.
Water Sports
Within the region, swimming is possible in a few pools, such as the Alpenbad in Wattens and the swimming pool in Hall. Both pools offer a wide range of facilities including a large sunbathing area and swimming alongside various other sports.
Recommendation
In a farmhouse on 17 januar 1797 the statue of Mary appeared in a window. For years, scientists have sought the secret behind to fathom without any result. After much pressure from the population, the statue is placed in the church on the right altar. The Basilica Maria Absam for many believers is a place of solace and hope. The major celebrations are January 17 and June 24, the day of St. John.
