Welcome to the Faaker See
The blue-green waters of the Faaker See with the small island and in the background the Rocks of the Mittagskogel. This is the panorama that the region offers visitors. In the summer the clear water is heated to 27 degrees. Those who spend a holiday here, have the best of two sides. The mountains and the beautiful lake.
Mountain Sports
Several mountain sports are possible in the vicinity of the lake. Several trails (marked or unmarked), cycling and mountain biking trails, including the various routes around the lake. Paragliding is offered at the nearby Gerlitzen, and here are several possibilities for challenging hiking and mountain bike trails.
Water Sports
The Faaker See, the most southern lake of Austria, offers many opportunities for watersports. Sailing, surfing, fishing and swimming are a favorite summer activity. In the summer it usually crowded on and around the lake.
Recommendation
The Zitrusgarten in Faak am See is a garden of international level, and unique in Austria. 210 Collected species of lemon plants and trees. Even ancient species that have been mentioned by the Medici in the 16th century. Unique is also the 1800 m2 large Mediterranean garden with old lemon trees, palm trees, olive trees and other species.
