Thalgau is sometimes called the healthy village and is located in a wide stretch of the valley, north-east of Salzburg.

It is one of the oldest settlements in the country, surrounded by the lakes of the Salzkammergut.

A relaxed village, with a farmer character. Lots of nature, which is ideal for hiking, winter hiking and mountain biking.

In the winter months, there are around the Thalgauberg, more than 20 km of groomed cross country tracks.

Water Sports
The sports and Freizeitszentrum spoiles its guests with a large lawn, outdoor pool and a large heated natural pool with clear water from the Fuschlsee.

The 5 meters deep nature pool is entirely by fish kept clean so that no chemicals have to be used.

Worth seeing are the Dekanatskirche, the Kolomanskirche, the Chapel zum guten Hirten, and the impressive Ruine Wartenfels.
