Winklern is located between the Großglockner massif.
Winklern is located at the entrance to the Hohe Tauern National Park, between the Großglockner massif, the Kreuzeckgroep and the Lienz Dolomites.

Conveniently located, so that a reasonably mild conditions prevailed.

A landscape where you can dream, with beautiful old farmhouses and stone walls that form the separation between the cultivated pastures, and where many animals and plants have found a home.

Mountain Sports
From Winklern you can enjoy beautiful hiking trails through the National Park Hohe Tauern, or at the very beautiful Glocknerradweg and different routes for mountain bikers.

Other sports such as paragliding, are possible.

Water Sports
With its central location, you can enjoy water sports at various places, although the village itself has not much to offer.

The Kristallturm.
Definitely worth a visit are the Kristallturm, with permanent exhibitions including on crystal, and the Mautturm. This tower, which stands in the center was important for the history of the village.
