This area is well known by mountaineers, because of the highest mountain of Tirol (the Wildspitze) and the excellent climbing opportunities.

St Leonhard is a real mountaineering Location. Anyone who has ever been here, in summer or winter, comes back again to enjoy the many mountain sports the region offers. Numerous hikingtours, mountain biking routes and climbing paths are already waiting.

Traditional water sports around the the village can not be found. Yet there are plenty of opportunities in the area for rafting, swimming, and other forms of water sports such as the Pitztaler Wasserwelten in Stillebach.
