Hiking Ellmau

Gruttenhütte

easy route
From the Wochenbrunneralm take the road between the two paths 14 and 812!. After a short time cross the street, and then it goes uphill towards the Gruttenhütte. Return on the same route or through the Gaudeamushütte (first road 813, then road 814), or through the "Wilder Kaiser Steig" (first path 14a, the road 14).

Traffauer

This route is not suitable for inexperienced hikers.
Start is the same route as the route to the Gruttenhütte. From the Gruttenhütte along the climb above hiking trail 14 heading south hillside of the Tuxecks. At 2226 meters you reach the top of the Tuxecks and after a bit further "climbing" the top of the Treffauer. Back on the same road or the descent / ascent to Schneekar.

Sonnseitweg (Nr 14)

Near the Sporthotel through the underpass, along the golfcourt direction Wochenbrunner Alm. Through the forest to the Riedlhütte. From here go to the Kaiser-Bauernhöfen and through Horngach / Buchau, through the Auwald and along the Kaiserbad back to the starting point.

Elferweg (Nr 11)

From the Mountain Station of the Hartkaiserbahn through the "magic forest" (Zauberwald) direction Brandstadl. Along the Eibergalm, through the Schwendteralm direction Bodneralm and Blinzalm. Now there are 2 possibilities. Whether you are walking down along the Top-Hausberg-Way or with the Astbergbahn the easy way.

Hiking Going

Schleierwaterfall

From the center follow the marked trail No. 818. At the Schleierwaterfall follow the marked trail 822 to Breitau-Stiegenbach. From here follow the road No. 817 to Graspoint Niederalm. Further on the Forstweg to Aschau and back to Going.

Baumgartenköfl

Through trail 812 to Gasthof Wochenbrunn and the Gaudeamushütte Baumgartenköpfl. Further on trail No. 35 to the Regelalm. Descend to Schwendt and back to the starting point.

Around the Lake

From the Raiffeisen Bank to the north, take the underpass, past the Kaiserhof in Prama. Through the Kapellenweg and Aschauerweg to the lake. For the entrance right, direction Reisch. Through the woods and along Schattenried, and right again. Then left to the intersection with the Bundesstraße. Cross the street and before Gasthof Reischerwirt in the direction Reinache. To the intersection with the Landesstraße. Right and along the footpath towards Stanglwirt Going. Shortly before the intersection with the Bundesstraße along the Auweg to Going.

Hiking Scheffau

Niederalm

From the church at Gasthof Maikircher right. At the first big sign right. Follow the road to Pension Eisenmann. Now along the toboggan run and along the stream to Steinacker and on to the Jagerwirt. Here along the Forstweg until intersection Niederalm. Follow the footpath to the Kaiseralm. From the Kaiser Alm slightly downhill to the Hinterschießlinger Alm. Now along the Forstweg until the tarmac road. Right and after ± 100 meter on the Forstweg to the Leitenhof. From here back to the village.

Kinder Alm

From the church direction Hintersteinersee. For the Reckerbrücke right into the Forstweg, past the cabin, over bridges and along the creek to the street and then turn left into a Forstweg (into the forest). Follow this Forstweg to the Hinterschließlinger Alm. Behind the Alm the path to the Steiner Niederalm. From here along the Forstweg downwards. At Haus Hörl left (Forstweg) and then to the Schießlinger Höfen. Righ and back to the village.

Scheffau - Walleralm

Follow the markings "Steiner Hochalm". From here to the Walleralm.

Nice hiking route, which is rightly called the Panoramaweg. The view is indeed beautiful. The route runs along several Jausenstationen, and gives a good insight into the environment.
