Summer Vacation in the Allgäu
In southern Germany, between the Bregenzerwald and Ulm, and between Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Lake Constance, lies the lovely holiday region Allgäu.
A wonderful region for a relaxed holiday, between the succulent pastures where the Allgäu is known for.
A region that owes its name to the Allgäu Alps, some of which are in Germany, but also in the Austrian provinces of Vorarlberg and Tyrol. Here you will notice soon why the Alps became so famous, because nowhere else you can still enjoy the mountains in such a pristine state, as here in the Allgäu.
The region presents itself as the health region, and that fits exactly the image that the Allgäu has in the rest of the world. This is because life is still healthy, yet traditional, like it used to be.
With babbling mountain streams, grazing cows on the meadows, vast forests, good food, and lots of rest.
An excellent opportunity to enjoy in a region that simply has everything to offer what you would expect from a summer vacation.

Being active Outside
Active in the outdoors, you would love to do that in this area.
It is wonderful to be outdoors in the mountains On small paths and forest roads.
The area is ideal for various forms of mountaineering such as hiking and mountain biking. But also for cyclists there are beautiful roads to climb the mountains on the bike.
Other sports such as paragliding and mountain climbing are of course also possible in various places.
Lakes and other water sports
Also a region, that in addition to several lakes, has other forms of water sports to offer.
Even if you want to enjoy water on, in whatever form, the Allgäu is an excellent holiday destination. Besides a large number of outdoor and indoor pools, there are in the region many beautiful and attractive lakes, where various water sports are offered.
A very nice example is the Alpsee, a mysterious and quite deep lake (up to 62 meters deep), a bit hidden behind Hohenschwangau, but what a romantic lake, with numerous recreational opportunities. And there are even more beautiful lakes in the region, that are worth to be discovered!
The best tips and Attractions
A region with an illustrious past, so many attractions.
One of the most attractive sites is undoubtedly Schloss Neuschwanstein. The former residence of Ludwig II, who showed his romantic side here. The castle was model for the fairytale castle in the Disney parks.
The Museum of bayerischen Könige is also worth a visit, where you can see the history of the kings of Bavaria from the Middle Ages.
