Summer Vacation in Upper Bavaria
Upper Bavaria is located between the Lech and the Salzach, the Altmühltal and the Bavarian Alps.
A part of Germany with beautiful landscapes, you usually only know from a photo book. The Wetterstein mountains with cliffs in the west, with the Zugspitze, Germany's highest mountain, and the Karwendel mountain range and the Berchtesgaden Alps in the east.

All of Upper Bavaria also has a few things that are the same everywhere. Very hospitable, much untouched nature, and therefore an ideal holiday destination for young and old.
Upper Bavaria is known for nature, with many different landscapes. Such as the high mountains, with plenty of opportunities not only in the summer months to enjoy all that the mountains have to offer, but in the winter months a downright paradise for winter sports.

Upper Bavaria has a lot to offer if you want to be active during your holiday, or simply want to enjoy during a picnic.
The region is full of opportunities for hikers and cyclists, mountain bikers will find challenging routes to climb the mountains.
In the summer months mainly fans of the exuberant nature go up the mountain, with or without one of the cable cars. Numerous hiking trails, climbing routes and mountain bike trails are available here, and after a day full of movement, you can reminisce in one of the many mountain huts and restaurants.
Lakes and other water sports

In the field of water sports Upper Bavaria also has a lot to offer, with in addition to several pools, some very beautiful lakes.
One of those beautiful lakes is the Starnberger See in the region Starnberger Fünf-Seen-Land. The lake is situated 20 kilometers southwest of Munich, and offers numerous opportunities to swim and unwind.
It is the second largest lake in Bavaria, and both by car and by public transport very easily accessible. Incidentally, the other lakes, such as Lake Chiemsee, are definitely worth a visit.

Bavaria has a rich history, which even today can still be seen.

For example, Schloss Herrenchiemsee in the Holiday region Chiemsee. It is the biggest attraction for miles around, and was built by the Bavarian King Ludwig II.
Schloss Herrenchiemsee Chiemsee is located on an island in the Chiemsee, and is one of the most famous and beloved royal castles in Bavaria.
In Upper Bavaria there are many more attractions, which include the beautiful church in Ramsau, the various pilgrimage churches, the Roßfeld Panorama Roadand Lokwelt Freilassing.
