Especially around the Dachstein, the mighty and imposing mountain, there are plenty of opportunities for hiking, along a network of well-marked hiking trails.

Other mountain sports such as paragliding and mountain climbing are possible around the Dachstein.

Water Sports
Lake Hallstatt is world famous, and an ideal place to enjoy water and sunshine, and of course the mountains.

Around the lake there are several beach pools.

Worth seeing are the Heilbronner Kapelle am Krippenstein, the monument to the mountain tragedy of 1954, the Höhlenmuseum, viewing platform "5fingers", Dachstein Ice Cave, and the parish church.
