Saas-Balen lies in the by rocks characterized Saas Valley. A feature of the village itself, the Mary Ascension Church of the late Baroque with a unique architecture. The weather in this part of Switzerland is greatly influenced by the Southern Alps, and thus prolonged rain and fog are an exception.
Mountain Sports
The region offers, because of its location, great opportunities for mountaineering. For hikers and mountain bikers there are many routes available, such as the theme ring road around 18 mountains higher than 4,000 meters.
Water Sports
In Freizeitzentrum Bielen you find a 25 meter pool with showers, a children's pool with waterslide, whirlpool, steam bath, solarium, sauna, lying landscape, table tennis, billiards and bowling, restaurant, tennis and badminton courts.
