Halfway through to the Swiss Samnaun is the highest commune in Austria, the recreation village Spiss. The village lies in a mountain landscape with stunning views and impressive mountain peaks. The high location makes it an ideal area for hiking and enjoying the blooming alpine flowers.
Mountain Sports
Several mountain sports are offered in the region around the village. Around the village there are several beautiful hiking routes and challenging mountain bike tours. Paragliding and rafting is possible on site, rafting and canyoning are also offered in the region.
Water Sports
Rafting is offered in the region (Nauders and Ried). The village also provides opportunities for rafting. The region has several good swimming pools and lakes, so there is a wide choice for watersports.
Recommendation
The Swiss Samnaun is not far, and offers plenty of opportunity for tax free shopping. 50 Duty Free Shops offer you ample opportunities to get away, and above all cheap shopping. Keep in mind the permitted quantities, as with regularity are the customs checks.
