Ski Resort Ischgl with more than 200 km of slopes and more than 40 lifts is one of the largest ski resorts in the Alps. The cheerful après-ski parties and several major hotels provide the atmosphere in Ischgl, and the beginning and the end of the regular winter season are celebrated with great pop concerts.

The Ski Resort is located mostly at altitudes from 2,000 to 2872 meters and is, due to the northern slopes, covered with a beautiful layer of snow from late November to early May.

The Silvretta Arena connects the well maintained slopes and the ski village with the Swiss Samnaun (tax free shopping), with more than 40 lifts and gondolas.

Modern lifts on a vast ski area, which almost every year again are modernized. Moreover, Ischgl has something special to offer, or rather the nearby Samnaun has. A tax haven, where you on skis or snowboard just like that can go, and where prices are significantly lower than in the rest of Europe.

Samnaun is just behind the highest peaks in the region, the Greitspitz (2,872 meters), the Alp Trida (2263 meters) and the Palinkopf (2,864 meters), and the area is accessible by super modern lifts.

If you decide to ski across the border to do some tax free shopping, be carefull if you can take the shopping you have done without problems across the border. This is one of the few places in Europe where the customs has a customs post on the slopes. Some skiers will be checked at the border control, and the penalties can be high if the amount taken across the border is too high.

Top of the Mountain concerts and other highlights.
More than just an excellent ski resort. The great advantage of this very tourist destination are the vastly expanded facilities, ample opportunities for après ski, and many major events around the ski resort and the ski village.

The absolute highlight are the Top of the Mountain concerts, in which the opening and closing of the winter season is celebrated. Not just concerts with local bands, but concerts with absolute top acts. Ischgl knows, year after year, how to get major international artists for a concert on the slopes, which in itself of course already may be called unique. In the past, top artists such as Pink, Tina Turner, The Scorpions and the Pussycat Dolls gave a concert here.

The best time for a ski holiday in this top destination is undoubtedly during the opening or closing of the ski season. Although that again can be contradicted by many other top events, which are organized during the ski season, such as "Formen in Weiss", where gigantic sculptures are made by artists of snow and ice.
