If you want to enjoy winter sports, while in other ski resorts there is no snow or the snow already melted, then ski resort Obertauern is the right place.

It is one of the snowiest ski resorts in the Alps.

In the middle of the beautiful Salzburg mountains at an altitude of 1740 to 2526 meters you'll find a cable car, 19 chair lifts and 6 drag lifts. Perfect (snow) conditions from late November to early May.

100 km perfectly prepared slopes and cross-country trails and a wonderful and carefree holiday feeling.

Besides the alpine sports the area offers cross-country skiing.

For instance on the 10 km long worldcup trail for experts, the 6 km long Hundsfeld trail or the 10 km long Gnadenalm trail.

As regards to the "new" winter sports this Ski Resort has a lot to offer, like the first Snow Kite School in Austria for beginners and advanced, or the Long Play Park (at the Kehrkopfbahn) for snowboarders.
